The Waynesboro Police Department operates 24/7 to serve and protect the people in the borough of Waynesboro, PA. The borough has a population of approximately 10,000 people covering a geographic area of 3.4 square miles.
The department currently employs 20 people, with 18 sworn officers (16 full-time and two part-time) and two clerical staff. The Police Department is under the direction of Police Chief James Sourbier, who reports to Mayor Richard Starliper. The Chief of Police is the primary administrator of the Waynesboro Police Department and is assisted in the administration of the Department by one sergeant. Four corporals are responsible for the daily supervision of patrol officers. The Department has five marked squad cars and one unmarked car.
